Now an emerging social and legal historian of the early modern British Atlantic, Matthew is primarily focused on advancing his research at the University of Michigan.
When he’s not deciphering centuries old legal manuscripts, however, Matt is combing through hundreds of thousands of pages of discovery to help us piece together the factual circumstances related to your case. After all, recognizing that historical challenges related to accessing justice persist today, he is committed to helping represent those most in need.
As such, we’re thrilled to continue supporting the development of his unique practice as an academically trained historian with practical legal experience. While we’re still trying to convince him to go to law school—and he says he eventually will—we’re nonetheless happy to have his help managing our discovery efforts and working on cases in the meantime.
Outside Interests
While Matt is primarily based in Ann Arbor as he’s working on his Ph.D. at the University of Michigan, he’s fully embraced the Midwest lifestyle and our “work hard, play hard” ethos. So, if you’re ever in Michigan, you’ll likely spot him in the law library advancing his own work or ours—though he’s likely also exploring the local breweries during his downtime.
